We received an alert from a member of the public about a deceased Tabby and white cat found along London Road in Swanley this morning. We attended as soon as we could.
It was very apparent to the member of public that something didn’t seem right about the deceased cat. When we arrived we noticed a few parts of the cat were missing. A sharp instrument has been used to mutilate the cat.
The cat was checked for a chip and is microchipped, however there are no owner details on the microchip and a trackback to the rescue who implanted the microchip has begun.

We have obtained a crime reference number from the police and this case has been filed under Operation Takahe.
We have also had a vet review the injuries and they have also confirmed this cat was killed by a human.
If you believe you have found a mutilated animal and believe a human has been involved then please call 101 immediately as it is a criminal offence to hurt or kill an animal under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.
