On Saturday the 13th of April we were alerted to a deceased cat near John Street in Rochester. We attended as soon as we could. It became quickly apparent that the cat had been killed and mutilated by a human.
The cat was chipped and the owner has been located and notified.
All relevant authorities have also been notified.
This case has been filed under Operation Takahe with the Police.
Rest in paws heaven little darling. Our thoughts are with the owners at this sad time.
Please be vigilant in your area and report any strange goings on to the police on 101. If you have found an animal and you believe has been killed by a human then please call 101 immediately. The police will take this seriously as it is against the law to knowingly harm, injure or kill an animal under the animal welfare act.
