Dog Kills Cat in Gravesend

We received an anonymous call from a lady who saw some youths running down a path at the end of Lower Range Road in Gravesend. She then witnessed a dog carrying a animal in his/her mouth, the youths then shouted at the dog, the dog dropped the animal and kicked the animal in a bush and ran off. The dog was a white and chocolate springer spaniel.

Upon further investigation the lady could see that the animal was a cat and quickly got in touch.

We attended as soon as we could and checked the cat for a chip. She was chipped and her name was Molly, unfortunately Molly had passed away from her injuries.

We have located the owners who will be calling the authorities. This dog was running free and should have been kept on a lead.

If you own a dog you must be in control of your dog at all times. We understand that it is within a dogs instinct to chase and sometimes kill an animal running away from them, however if this dog was on a lead this could have been avoided.
