Deceased Ginger male kitten found Poplar Road Strood

A post went up on Facebook about a kitten that was found deceased in a back garden on Poplar Road in Strood. We attended and checked for a chip and to determine the cause of death.

The kitten wasn’t chipped, he is a ginger tabby and looks around 12 weeks of age. He wasn’t wearing a collar.

There was no sign of predation on the kitten, no bite marks or puncture wounds. The kitten was extremely skinny, all bones could be felt and the kitten had a lot of fleas. We are sure that the cause of death is malnourishment and/or flea anemia.

This kitten could have got himself lost and not been able to find a constant food source as he is so young.

Rest in paws heaven little darling boy xxxx

We will keep him safe at HQ and continue to search for his owners.

Not for profit animal welfare organisation.
