We received a call about a deceased cat this morning along Capstone Road in Chatham. We attended as soon as we could. As soon as we attended it became apparent that the cat did not die of natural causes or an accident. An off duty forensics officer also attended and confirmed that there had been foul play. The cat looks as though someone has used a sharp instrument and cut the cat. Part of the cat was missing and nowhere to be found.
This case has been filed under Operation Takahe with Kent Police and the Metropolitan Police. Some investigation is still ongoing.
The cat was chipped and the owner has been notified, our heartfelt thoughts are with them at this awful time.
Rest in paws heaven little one.

Please be vigilant in the Kent area, curtain twitch if you hear any noises. Please don’t presume cat fighting noises outside is just cats fighting. The general public are our best weapon in trying to aid the police in catching whoever is doing these disgusting, evil things. Report to 101 if you find a mutilated animal or if you see anything suspicious. Kent police are aware of protocol and are trying their best with the resources they have.
