A post went up on our facebook group about a cat that was involved in an RTA last night and didn’t survive. We explained that we could leave straight away and check the cat for a chip.
After some time we found the cat, someone had moved the cat out of the road. As soon as we looked at the cat and realised which area we were in we recognised the cat. We had microchipped this little love back in September. We checked his chip anyway just to be 100% sure.
We checked the database and we were right, this little lad was called Pharaoh, a beautiful oriental mix. He was a pickle for running around the streets and was such a friendly lad. We picked him up, gave him a big cuddle and a kiss before wrapping him up and placing him in our vehicle.
Whilst trying to gather our own emotions we then rang the owner and she picked up the phone immediately, we then went on to explain what happened. She was in pieces and came out to where we were. We helped the owner place Pharaoh into a little box for the night so the owners could try and come to terms with what happened so they could make a decision on what they would like to do with Pharaoh the following day.
It always hurts that little bit more when you know the animals and have to reunite them this way. But at least Pharaoh’s owners have closure because as we well know the not knowing hurts so much more.
Rest in paws heaven handsome boy xxxxxx
