A post was shared to our group yesterday about a cat that was involved in an RTA. Unfortunately the cat had ran into the side of a man’s car and went under the car. The man stopped and tried his best to follow the cat to try and help. The cat bit him and in a dazed state ran towards a pub, laid down and passed away.
The man and a woman that worked in the pub were distraught. They placed the cat somewhere safe and asked for help. We rang the pub and offered our services to chip check the cat and try and locate an owner.
We attended as soon as we could and checked the cat for a chip, he was chipped and his name on the chip was JugHead. We rang the phone numbers on the chip but there was no answer at all. So we went door knocking. All the lights were off at the address but we tried anyway…. No answer, so we knocked a few more doors and all of the neighbours pointed at different houses to try, so we followed that lead. We eventually came to one house where a lovely lady knew who we were looking for and gave us a more updated phone number to try. We tried, left a voice message and text.
After a few hours we finally got a call back, the lady didn’t recognise the name JugHead. We described the cat and she knew exactly who we were talking about. His name was Ollie and he was her sisters cat, he had been missing for over 3 months. We explained what had happened to her and she said her sister was very unwell. She was so grateful to us for letting them know so that her and her sister could have closure.
Rest in paws heaven beautiful Ollie xxxxxx
