A post went up on our facebook group from a lady called Bronha, she explained that a cat had been hanging around her property for some time, crying at everyone’s doors on Canterbury Street in Gillingham. We asked if she could place a paper collar on the cat, she did and he wouldn’t keep them on. The finder had brought him indoors to dry off as it was snowing and he was showing no signs of going back home.
We attended as soon as we could to check him for a chip, he was chipped and his name is Ronnie. We then tried both phone numbers on the chip with no answer. A quick check on our group on Facebook and a familiar face popped up explaining that Ronnie had been missing since the 1st of July this year. He had been adopted from Cats Protection Bredhurst and as the owner tried to get him to the vet one day he got out of the basket and ran away.
We then called Cats Protection Bredhurst and explained what was happening, they said they were more than happy to have him brought to them until the owner could be contacted.
We started on our journey to cats protection Bredhurst when we tried the mobile number on the chip one last time.
A lady answered the phone and was in complete shock, she wasn’t sure if we were joking when we said that he had been found and was alive and well. We explained that we could bring him home straight away. The owner rushed back from being out shopping. What a wonderful reunion it was, smiles all round from the owner, her daughter and us grinning from ear to ear. Merry Christmas Ronnie! Home safe for when Sandy paws comes to visit.
Stay safe gorgeous boy xxxx
