Getting Bagpuss Safe

One of our volunteers Abigail noticed a cat that had been straying for a very long time around where she lived. She wasn’t able to get close to him at all, he wasn’t neutered and was impregnating all of the local unneuterd females in the area.

One day she went into her porch and saw him sleeping in her paper recycling bag.

She placed some food down for him and put a warm duvet inside the bag for him. She then noticed just how grubby he was and that he appeared to be deaf. Abigail then decided it was time to get him some help.

One of our other volunteers Ken attended and checked him for a chip, he wasn’t chipped. Because the weather is turning Ken decided to take him back home until there was a space at HQ. Ken and his wife Shirley made him up a large dog crate with a soft bed, food, water and a litter tray. They cleaned him a little, flead/wormed him and clipped his claws.

A few days later HQ was free for him to come in. What a beautiful boy he is!

Huge thanks to Abigail, Ken and Shirley for getting Bagpuss safe.
