We were sent a private message to our Facebook page on the 27th about a cat that was found deceased on the Isle of Grain. The finder had called the council but they never showed up. So 24 hours later she tried to find some other help. We attended straight away to check for a chip. The cat was chipped and her name was Summer, a beautiful 16 year old female.
We tried to call the number stored on the database but it rang out, so we went door knocking. A lady answered the address and said she had been living there for a few years but she knew of a family member still living around the area. We gave her one of our leaflets to give to her the next day as it was nearly midnight.
The next day we received a call from the owner who explained that Summer was adopted from Cats protection Bredhurst around 12 years ago and was still very full of spirit. They had been searching for her all night and day. We believe Summer passed away from natural causes as she had no obvious sign of any damage to her little frame. She was found across the road from where she lived.
We kept Summer safe until her owner was ready to collect her. Rest in paws heaven little darling girl xxxxx

I just wanted to post a message to thank you for looking after my beautiful summer and thanking you for everything that you have done which has allowed me to bring summer home. She was a very special and wonderful cat who will be sorely missed by the people who loved her. I am just so pleased that I was able to give her a forever home.
