Getting Miracle Safe

Update:

๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐ŸพMiracle passed away at 22:40pm we tried so hard for him. ๐Ÿ˜ข Rest in paws heaven little darling boy ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿพ

We were tagged on a Facebook group about a kitten that was seen in Minster. The finder thought the kitten was deceased and was involved in an RTA.

One of our Volunteers (Danielle) attended as soon as she could to collect the kitten and check for a chip. Danielle quickly rang Hq with the news that the kitten wasn’t deceased and was still alive but was just laying there. Danielle quickly picked the kitten up as gentle as she could and whisked the kitten to the nearest vets (Wellpets Animal Hospital Minster).

The vet reported to Danielle that the kitten wasn’t reading any temperature on the thermometer and that his heart was very weak. His gums were very pale and he was covered in fleas. The vets took him straight out the back to place him on a heat pad, gave him subcontanious fluids, flea treatment on his head and monitor him very closely.

We rang the vet and explained that we would be more than happy to take over his care and pay for any treatment that they have done for the cat and that we were happy to collect him before the vets closed to continue his treatment at Hq.

We have now collected him and brought him back with us this evening. It’s very clear that he is a very sick baby. He isn’t able to stand, his gums have a little bit of colour on them than the pure white he had, he still has fleas on him and we suspect that he has worms due to his distended stomach. He has what we call feral fur (when a cat or kitten lives outdoors their fur isn’t as soft as a domestic cat, but this could also be due to his severe flea anemia).

We hope and pray that he makes it through the night. We have been placing some food on his tongue and he seems to be swallowing it so far, we have also given him some Kittystim and critical care formula.

One very long night ahead at Hq and we will be taking him to a vet first thing tomorrow if he makes it.

Please keep him in your thoughts.
