Getting Elaine Home

We received a phone call earlier today from a lady explaining that she had been forwarded to us by Cats Protection Bredhurst about a deceased cat that a young boy had come across early this morning. She explained that the cat was safe and that she had the cat at her address and would like us to check the cat for a chip to try track down an owner for the cat as the cat looked very well cared for.

We attended at a suitable time and checked the cat for a chip. She was chipped and her name was Elaine, a beautiful black cat with a brown tinge to her fur.  We called the phone number on the chip, but had no answer so we text the number explaining that we needed to speak to the owner of Elaine. Because we heard nothing back we explained to the finder that we could go door knocking. So we proceeded to go door knocking at the last known address on the chip database. As we pulled up we received a call back from the number that we text from a very worried owner. He was devastated by the news of his little girls passing. He explained that he couldn’t get home until later tonight, so we have arranged to take her back home when the time is convenient.
